delainey guiney

Hi! My name is Delainey Guiney (GUY-KNEE). I am from a small town in Illinois called Plainfield. I am currently a Senior BFA Music Theatre Major at Illinois Wesleyan University.

Theatre has always felt like home; it is the one passion that drives my everyday experience. I had the privilege of growing up around music. My father played the guitar and my mom sang in the choir. No matter where I was, music surrounded me.

I always knew I loved singing, but was always too shy. That is, until I took a chance to audition for my 4th grade school musical... We Like Sheep. As a proud Ewe, I got to sing with my friends and perform my very own solo. From then on, I knew I wanted to pursue Theatre for the rest of my life.

I love to write, create my own original music and collaborate creatively with my friends! Theatre allows me to understand the human experience; what it means to connect with the journey of those who are like and unlike yourself. Theatre has taught me a lot about humility and patience, how to take care of my instrument, and how my perseverance can get me through difficult times.

Some of my other hobbies include, playing the ukulele and piano by ear, drawing/sketching, improving my makeup/hair skills.
